I don't want to post to many pictures until I have the complete before and after. It's been a work in progress remodeling our house but it has also been a lot of fun. The whole upstairs needed painting, and the ceilings were just plain and we wanted them textured. My dad has been down helping us. He textured the living room and kitchen ceilings and my mother painted them. (Thanks again so much mom and dad!) I textured the hallway and bathroom, and Chris did the master bedroom and painted them all. The rest of the ceilings in the house had already been textured so that was nice. They also had some really weird lights and in order to replace them we had to get a certain type and size in to cover up the rectangle holes from before, unless we would have wanted to rebuild a ceiling around it which would have been a pain. We looked everywhere and I couldn't find anything that I liked that was the right size, until I found these and I absolutely love them. I have to mention though that putting texture on a ceiling is not the easiest thing I've ever done.
As you can see in this picture we haven't painted the walls yet, but it gives you an idea of what we got ourselves into and the progress we have made!!! If anyone had any fun ideas while we are remodling let us know. I would also be very open to some fun decorating ideas:)
We also decided that with all the remodeling we might as well put in a fire place, interesting that there wasn't one already. But we found that in order to vent it out we would have had to put it in a spot that wasn't very usable and that would have also been a lot of work. So we opted to buying a vent-free gas fireplace. This picture is obviously not the end result but like I said it's a work in progress. Chris and I have been really busy with school and work, but we hope to have to basement ready to rent out by spring break!
