Love Day

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day. The pics are of a flower bouquet that Chris actually gave me about a week ago just because! He's so sweet:) For Valentines Day we went out for a nice dinner and shopping together. It's just nice to be able to spend time with the ones we love!

Master Bedroom

This picture is kind of dark but there is not a lot to see other than it was very outdated.
The house has some really interesting closets but they are very unique so it makes it fun. Don't worry we are eventually replacing all of the doors and windows through out the house.
You can also see the lighting they had from before.
The walls had a lot of blemishes so we decided to do one of the new texture techniques, one of them is called holy smooth, I love the way they look. You can kind of see the texture if you look close. Anyway the pictures don't do justice for them. But we really like the colors, it's just a chocolate brown and tan, the chair rail adds a nice accent and we are also going to put in crown molding. That's why we didn't paint the top of the walls by the ceiling.

I painted the inside of the closets and put new hardware on the drawers so they look a lot better now. I haven't had a chance to paint all of the trimming yet though so it still needs work.
I should probably mention that our life revolves around our house right now so if you get sick of us posting our update pictures then I apologize in advance.

Small Updates

I don't want to post to many pictures until I have the complete before and after. It's been a work in progress remodeling our house but it has also been a lot of fun. The whole upstairs needed painting, and the ceilings were just plain and we wanted them textured. My dad has been down helping us. He textured the living room and kitchen ceilings and my mother painted them. (Thanks again so much mom and dad!) I textured the hallway and bathroom, and Chris did the master bedroom and painted them all. The rest of the ceilings in the house had already been textured so that was nice.
They also had some really weird lights and in order to replace them we had to get a certain type and size in to cover up the rectangle holes from before, unless we would have wanted to rebuild a ceiling around it which would have been a pain. We looked everywhere and I couldn't find anything that I liked that was the right size, until I found these and I absolutely love them. I have to mention though that putting texture on a ceiling is not the easiest thing I've ever done.
As you can see in this picture we haven't painted the walls yet, but it gives you an idea of what we got ourselves into and the progress we have made!!! If anyone had any fun ideas while we are remodling let us know. I would also be very open to some fun decorating ideas:)
We also decided that with all the remodeling we might as well put in a fire place, interesting that there wasn't one already. But we found that in order to vent it out we would have had to put it in a spot that wasn't very usable and that would have also been a lot of work. So we opted to buying a vent-free gas fireplace. This picture is obviously not the end result but like I said it's a work in progress. Chris and I have been really busy with school and work, but we hope to have to basement ready to rent out by spring break!

"Life is not about how many breaths you take... it's about how many moments take your breath away."

In dedication to my Great Grandma Ilah who passed away on Sunday December 28, 2008 at age 92. She lived a full life and we love her so much! We are so sad and will miss her always but are so happy for her to be reunited with her eternal companion after being widowed for 46 years. She has blessed so many lives and we know we will be able to see her again one day! I just thought these pictures of the flowers at her funeral were so pretty.

Cute Cameron

I had to post this picture. Our nephew Cameron turned one a few months back and has already gained an obsession for dogs and shoes. Anytime we're at their house we have to search for our shoes before we are ready to go....His favorites usually end up being high heels and boots (His dad hates it). So when Chris and I were shopping and found those cute dog slippers we couldn't pass up buying them for him. He absolutely loves them. He looks like such a stud in the coat his uncle Casey bought for him!

Who would have thought....

As you can see Chris's present was extremely large and I didn't want him to have any idea as to what he was getting. So I had to hide it in the guest bathroom shower for two days (with the help his parents). I also had it all wrapped and then realized that you could see the colors through the curtain so I had to cover up part of it with just plain white just to be safe. He had no clue!!! It was so funny to see his reation.
