The Holidays

I don't know why I let myself get so behind on blogging.  The holidays were pretty crazy though.  We had Thanksgiving with my family but then celebrated with the Bybee side a few days later because a some of the cousins had been sick.  Following Thanksgiving came the croup for Tanner.  It was so sad to see him sick, and it lasted for a week or two.  For those of you who have been around Tanner know he is just about the happiest kid you have ever met and even when he has been sick in the past or cutting teeth it doesn't put a huge damper on his mood...croup was a whole different story!
December was very busy between celebrating Christmas and my brother coming home from his mission on the 21st.  It is so wonderful to have him back.  Tanner warmed right up to him and it was nice to have family time.  We missed you Greg, Shalet and boys! I feel that Christmas has a whole new meaning once you become a parent. It was pure bliss to watch Tanner get excited about seeing family and playing with wrapping paper.  We also made a trip to see the Ogden lights and reindeer with Casey, Heidi and Maddi.  I was very impressed and felt that it was a better place to take the kids.  It was full of theme booths and had a lot more interactive things that just looking at lights.  For new years we took Tanner up to my parents house and went to dinner and played games with some friends.  It was nice to have time with my husband with out a baby pulling on my sleeve!  Now that the holidays are over we are finally getting to remodeling in the kitchen and I am ecstatic.  I haven't posted very many pictures of the upstairs but there are just so many bits and pieces that still need to be done.  All in all I feel very blessed for our wonderful families, my amazing husband and adorable son, Christ and the chance to celebrate and remember his birth, a home to live in (which by the way lost most of it's roof in that crazy wind storm, luckily the insurance worked out and we won't have to pay to fix it), I could go on and on.  Kind of a random crammed all in to one post but enjoy the pics and I am seriously making a resolution to be better at updating.  Maybe no one even reads blogs any more I don't know.  Love you all!

First snow fall
Tanner at 9 months:
Height - 29.92 in - 91%
Weight - 18.58 lbs - 17%
Head - 17.7 in - 38%

We took T to The Pizza Factory and Bowling and he loved it!

I beat Chris 147-112

Checking out the reindeer

Tanner and Maddi

Ogden lights

Maddi was so excited about the nativity

opening pj's on Christmas Eve

around Christmas he went through a phase where he put everything on his head

These next two pictures are very typical: Katelyn is always happy about getting a picture taken, Cameron is either trying to escape or pick on someone...

...Maddi usually throws an elbow, the twins will attempt to get away from their brother and Tanner is just happy to be there

Tanner loves all his family but has a special attachment to his Grandpa, all Christmas day he just wanted to help my dad

Tanner does not like to miss out on the party so Christmas day it was a challenge to get him to nap, finally he dozed off while sitting by his Grandpa

and for the first time he was actually interested in checking out the dog and not running away from her

It's hard to see but right before Christmas Tanner learned how to climb stairs and over Christmas fell down a couple and got black eye :(

This picture is random but it is my favorite.  T is obsessed with this dinosaur book that is at Grandpa and Grandma Bybee's and I think he looks like such a big boy sitting here reading it!

I feel like my baby is no longer a baby, sniff sniff
Tanner has such a sparkle to him.  As mentioned before he is such a happy kid and is always smiling.  He takes after his dad and has smiley eyes.  Chris has such smiley eyes that they will look like they are closed in a picture when in fact they are not.  Tanner loves pretty much all food, the only thing he doesn't care for right now are peaches.  He takes after my family and pretty much eats all day long.  Every couple hours he at least has to have a snack and becomes grouchy along with loosing all ability to reason when he is hungry.  He is an okay sleeper and recently has regressed a bit with the holidays and being sick.  I hope this gets better soon or I may go a little crazy ;-)  Tanner babbles all day long, loves to play with his toys and his favorite movie is Shrek.  He loves loves his dad.  He cries and scratches at the door when Chris leaves for the day and when he returns they roughhouse and play for hours.  He loves to dance, which is really just bouncing up and down and flapping his arms, enjoys reading books and playing with interactive toys.  He has a book/piano toy our cousin gave to us and he will sit and babble into the microphone forever and just laugh at himself.  I am obviously biased about the kid and love him to death.  Time sure flies because this little boy will be one in a couple weeks and I will have more to update then.

What We've Been Up To

Babysitting
 Tanner and Mason (I think)

 sorting through the pantry

 taking lots of naps

climbing up to and walking along everything, which comes with lots of bumps, bruises, and tears

he gets over it pretty fast though

more climbing, sorting, and playing with items from the drawers

playing so hard that he just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer

helping dad work in his office, which usually turns into watching Mickey Mouse Club House on the laptop

we attended Chris's brother Braden's farewell (this picture of my father in law was the only one I took at the after feast)
we also attended the temple with Braden when he took out his endowments

we celebrated mine and my grandma's birthdays

said goodbye to Braden who will be in Lima, Peru for 2 years
(Davis, Mason, Braden, Maddi, Katelyn, Cameron, Tanner)

Tanner loves his uncle Braden

went to our ward trunk or treat, Tanner cried at the scary mask Chris tried to wear

hung out with family some more, Maddi loved Tanner's costume

he actually did really well putting up with wearing it

played some more with cousins

and 'monkeyd' around!

October is a busy month for our family so it is nice to have some down time now.  Chris went hunting a few times and didn't get anything but still had a blast.  He has also been busy with work, more business ideas, indoor soccer, and hanging out with us.  I am addicted to pinterest, which is good because I am picking up some new hobbies and interests.  I'm also starting to get into canning and making more things from scratch.  I want to learn how to sew and am finally going to start taking piano lessons.  Tanner is just being his little monkey self.  He climbs all over everything, really; if there is a chair or something to the side of the path he is on he will detour just to crawl through or over it.  For about a month now he has been saying "ma ma" and just yesterday crawled over to Chris and said "da da".  He gives kisses, does bonkers and just learned how to wave hi and bye although he hasn't quite mastered it yet.  He mimics us quite a bit but the funniest is when you roar at him and he tries to roar back.  Still a great sleeper and eater, has his 2 bottom teeth and is constantly doing new things.  I love watching him grow up but hate that it is happening SO fast!!!

Pinspiration

Confession time:  I am addicted to Pinterest!  I love the creative ideas I find on there for crafts and activities, along with having a recipe board to switch up dinner menus.  I have finished a couple projects recently and am very pleased with how they turned out.  Pinterest has me thinking outside my box and I came up with this idea last week.  I feed Tanner baby food every day and usually throw the jars away.  I decided they would be a perfect storage container for items in our desk that we know Tanner will try and get into when he can walk around and open all the drawers in our house :-)  I just rinsed it out, got rid of the goo with Goo-B-Gone and spray painted the lid.

Well Check and 8 Month Update

We have a crawler!  Tanner rolled over at 4 months, started scooting at 5 1/2 months, crawled at 7 months, and as of today is pulling himself up to things.  He loves that he can finally get where he wants.  This week he started crawling up to me and Chris, climbing our pant leg, and then wants us to walk him around.  He has quite the personality.  He makes Pterodactyl and motor boat noises all the time.  He is very inquisitive about everything and always SO happy.  He found himself in the mirror a few months ago but just started giggling at himself and attacking it.  I have a few videos of Tanner belly laughing at his reflection. He is still sleeping great through the night but he scoots in his sleep which caused lots of problems being in the crib.  So we had to buy him a twin memory foam pad that we put on the floor so if he rolls off it's only an inch of a drop.  I finally got him to eat green beans and peas!  He has his favorites but pretty much loves all food now.  He is our little pig.  He eats 8 ounces of baby food at a feeding and around 8 ounces when we give him a bottle.  I need to get a video of him eating.  He grunts at me the whole time.  He has a grunt for when I am not feeding him fast enough and a grunt for when he really likes the selection I am giving him.  He still has acid reflux which means we are still cleaning up lots of spit up.  I just had to go buy some new fall clothes for the little man and had to get 12 month clothes.  At his well check he was 16.5 lbs (14%) and 28.1 in (84%).

Tanner's New Loves
Corn, Yogurt Melts, and Graduate puffs
Feeding himself his snacks
Rio, although Nemo is still his ultimate favorite
Dumping all his toys out of the basket to play with
Being outside
Climbing on everything

He doesn't have any new dislikes which is great.  When he cries for me he has started babbling ma ma ma ma ma.  I know it is not on purpose and he has know idea that he is doing it but it just happens that it is his wine for me and I think it is super cute...and Chris does not ;-)  When we're at my in-laws if you ask where the dog is he will look or crawl over to the back door where the dog sits.  And if I say Tanner come to mom he will always crawl over to me.  We call Tanner our little monkey, not only does he try to climb on everything he, from the beginning, uses his feet for a lot of things,  we finally got a picture of him feeding himself his bottle with his feet that I posted a couple of weeks ago.  Other names we have for Tanner are: T, Tan Man, T-Bone, Noodle, and  My dad calls him Tannerlicious and when we take him over there calls it his "T Time"

I have so many fun videos to post but need to find my cord to get them off my phone.  We finally got a new camera so maybe I can motivate myself to post more often so it's not quite such a big update with loads of pictures all at once.  I'm just enjoying my Tanner Man too much :)

Tanner's eyes are always swollen when he wakes up.

Sitting in the cart like a big boy.

He usually falls asleep grocery shopping, I guess it's just that boring.

I love snuggling with Tanner when he naps!

L.O.V.E

Tanner is great at helping me clean the house ;-)

T was scooting off his pillow and fell asleep in transit.

He LOVES to play with boxes.

We went to another RSL game.  Tanner loves to watch the game.

I love both of these boys so much!!!

And finally I just can't get over how much he looks like a little monkey.
